Craig Virgin On Boston

Craig Virgin via Facebook- "Congratulations to Ryan Hall and Meb Keflezighi for 4th and 5th place in Boston Marathon respectively. Two Americans in top 5 of one of the "major" marathons...nowadays is quite good...and the U.S.A can be proud. The year that I got 2nd (1981) I got a trophy and some free food. adidas paid for my flight and hotel. Nowadays...2nd place is worth $75,000. It's tough to be a pioneer in a sport!".

Craig would have made stacks and stacks of sweet cash if they had the appearance and prize money of today in the '80's.

Ryan Hall took in $25k for FOURTH and donated it all to his charity, which he can afford to do because he pulled six figures just to show up.
Maybe he should have given it to Craig though, for his, ya know, pioneering.
