Xavier Carter went pro after two years of college and signed a 6 year contract with Nike reportedly worth $750k(please let that be wrong) per year through the 2012 Olympics.
In '06 he ran, what was at the time, the 2nd fastest 200m of all time. It's now the 4th fastest of all time behind Michael Johnson, Tyson Gay, and Usain Bolt.
Since then he hasn't done much, other than get arrested 4 times. He's had some injury problems and didn't make the Olympic team in '08. In '09 he finished 5th in the 200m at US Champs and didn't make the final in the 400m.
So let him be a lesson to the kids out there; stay in school, and don't play with guns and smoke weed. Unless all you want to do is make tons of cash while fading into obscurity.
