Kastor Wins, Hall Lays An Egg at R'n'R Arizona Half

After a string of sub-par performances, soon to turn 37 y-o Deena Kastor showed she isn't washed up yet by running a course/state record 1:09:43. It was a decisive win over Isla Paulson who ran 1:17:04(yikes).
Sure would have been nice to see Deena and Shalane go head to head this weekend instead...

Meenwhile, AR holder Ryan Hall went through two miles in 9 even(sub 59:00 pace), only to blow up and finish second to Canada's Simon Bairu(1:02:47) in 1:04:08. Brooks-Hanson's runners Luke Humphrey(1:06:02) and Mike Morgan(1:06:09)was this a workout or a race?) took 3rd and 4th.
Got to appreciate Hall's aggressive start and going big, but that finish time is disappointing to see. His time would have put him 13th in the US Champs race.

Hall will race another half in New Orleans on Feb. 28th as he prepares for the Boston Marathon in April.

*edit* What is up with those bib #'s??
